Ugobe due 2nd Round Funding
Ugobe has nearly finalised 2nd round funding of around $8 million which would, I expect, to be used for research and development into a new range of toy robots.
CEO and co-founder Bob Christopher told RedHerring recently: "
We could create a [robot] that could do things for you. It’s not on the road map yet… but the opportunity is there ... We are considering licensing our technology for applications… like science, medical, personal [assistance], or health care.”
At the moment they're looking to differentiate the Pleo Dinosaur Robot from anything else on the market: “What we feel is very important is to be able to make its own decisions.”
It's still too far off from hatching in the UK.
