Cris Taylor, a writer for Business 2.0, has interviewed Caleb Chung about the Pleo Dinosaur.

He comments that they don't place themselves in the "Toy" market per se because of how advanced the Pleo is. This takes us on to the reaffirmation that we'll be able to modify the personality and features the Pleo has for example he comments "They’ll be able to adjust his personality, even make him bipolar. For Pleo, emotions are a second-order control system."

The interesting point is, however, thaty they're "going for the housewife, not the geek. The geeks will buy it no matter what."

I don't doubt that its a fact that millions of "geeks" around the world will buy the Pleo not only because they'll be inquisitive about it, but also because they can tweek it's personality.

It'll be like making your kids wear clothes that you like, or getting their haircut in a style that your own parents wouldn't like. Everyone modifies their cell / mobile phones and people get covers for their iPods because they want to be in the same group as their peers, but they also want to show a bit of individuality.

With the Web 2.0, MySpace, Facebook, etc people want to do exactly this. So I hope that the they'll not only be software tweeks people can make, but also hardware "improvements".
