Guide To The Pleo Dinosaur
Everything you want to know about the Pleo, but were afraid to ask can be found in the Companion Guide (pdf - 1.44mb).This is the guide you'll get when you buy the Pleo, so should be a good thing to read if you're considering getting one!
I'm not sure if the camarasaurus actually went in water, but this one shouldn't be let loose near water as it'd bugger it up! Also you shouldn't get it near sand, soil or mud - so he's an indoor dinosaur then ;-)
Also you should avoid taking him to bed (eeek) as you shouldn't cover him up as he'd get too hot!
There are three life stages to the Pleo:
Birth - this is the first ten minutes but depends how tactile you are with him. This should be the cutest phase as he opens his eyes and starts to take in the world in which he has been born.
The advice we'd give is to make sure that you play with him nicely to give a good start to life.
Hatchling - this may last around 30 to 45 mins and the Pleo will start to get a bit more confident and start to move around but will have a couple of naps.
Juvenile - This is the last stage you'll see and will last for the lifetime of the Pleo. Overtime he'll learn more about being a dinosaur and will start to exhibit his personality traits.
The best part of owning a Pleo will be working out how he'll react to certain events such as putting things in his mouth and in his field of vision as well as clicking your fingers around him.
Also, if you stop giving him stimulation he'll take a nap. You better be careful that you don't have any scared pets around as he'll walk off on his own from time to time.
On a more mundane note, don't forget to register the pleo with www.pleoworld.com or by post.
That site will give you the opportunity to customise the Pleo's personality as well as interact with other people that own them.
