First Pleo Pictures & Video - Review
Some may not be intersted, some may be concerned with my ex-girlfriends choice of sofa, but here's the first pics of the Pleo that I've just this minute taken.
He's currently charging, but I'll try and take some video when he's fully charged!
Well, it's a bit strange, it's got the distributor's address on the side ...
... but a Gadget Shop brochure inside - did I read it? hell no! So they've been shipped individually.
When I touched the inner box it was freeezing, the poor critter must be in a temperature-induced coma!
When you get the box out you start to realise how well put together the packaging is.
The lids open up to give a good summary of what the Pleo is and what to expect.
You also get a very helpful "Quick Start Guide" - but I managed to go straight passed that and into the inner packaging.
Under the "Quick Start Guide" you'll find the Companion document - basically everything you'll need to know about how to look after him/her. You'll also find a numbered card that'll enable you to register him at the official site for updates etc.
Under this polystyrene you'll find a wrapped up Pleo with a charger, battery, cradle and a leaf - not worked this one out yet!
And the "money shot", he's standing proud, waiting for some nurishment. For that he'll have to wait for the ManWeb diet!
Ahh Pleo's asleep by the fire - its been a hard first day.In a couple of hours or so he'll be fully charged and I'll try and get some video together!
Well here is my very first and really poor attempt at a Pleo Video! It was taken on my mobile phone as Amazon hasn't delivered the memory cards or software for my video camera!! Also excuse the carpet (it's on the list of things to chuck next year!)
When you go to register the Pleo - I was annoyed that even though you choose UK - the input boxes are for USA addresses only :-(

Well they tried to call him "Derek" in the office. But then I think we decided on "Danny".
We'll have to see how he/she reacts when its born!

Finally ...... after numerous emails to Gadget shop, with no reply and unhelpful staff after 45 minutes or more trying to call my pleo has arrived.
All I have to do know is wait for Santa to bring it (I am 27 years old)
Gadget Shop did keep their promise though and said that it would be here for Christmas, but they could have organised their delivery situation and response to calls and emails a lot better.
I hope all on this site has a good Christmas playing with their pleo
UUGH this is a nightmare! Gadget shop said to me today that they 100% guarantee delivery on Friday!! They said anyone who has paid for their pleo from them after 6th December will receive it on Friday!!! They keep moving the goalposts, I will be very annoyed if it is not here by Friday.
Also Gizoo saY they are only getting 6 units in and they cannot fulfill the pre-orders they took this side of Christmas!!

grrr! I am so annoyed with Gadget Shop!
They can't take people's money and then guarentee delivery then say they can't do it.
If you do have problems I'd make sure you keep your emails and log of calls and then complain - not sure where though - doesn't look like they listen!
My Pleo arrived from findmeagift this morning (19th) so when I get home tonight I can have a play. I pre-ordered in October, and they only had a small delivery, so it was 1st come 1st served.
Still no news on the one from the gadgetshop, even though they reckon it was dispatched on Friday (14th).
And they're not replying to my emails either. And the phone just rings and rings and rings...
